Travel Essentials

As I was making this post about the things I pack and how I travel, I kept on saying, “oh yeah, and I need to remind them about my cords, and my plugs, and…” and honestly, it started to do double duty as a list for you AND for me just so I remember what I needed.

So, thank you for that!

Luckily , I’ve traveled enough to know the majority of what I like/need to survive and I think I’ve got it down to the degree that 75% of it is a no-brainer. I have my chargers and my 90˚ cords, my water bottle and my makeup cases, but each time there’s always like 25% that’s specific to the destination/activity.

So I’m breaking down my 75% part for you and telling you all the things I pack that make my life easier when I travel!

SANDALS | CLEAR CASE | MAKEUP BAG | TRAVEL CUBES | SUITCASE | BACKPACK | WATER BOTTLE

  • TUMI BACKPACK: I actually earned this backpack in my business and it’s one of the best travel items I have. It’s incredibly well made, is perfect as a carry-on for my computer and other essentials, and looks nice!

  • WATER BOTTLE: I know this isn’t the cute Stanley Cup or my Reduce tumbler, but this is hands-down the BEST water bottle to travel with. You can drink through a straw or sip out the side of the bottle and it’s completely leak-proof and spill-proof. I take it with me every time I travel.

  • SUITCASE: My suitcase is Lulu Guinness and it’s a lip print. It’s super cute and I love that the outside is the hard shell. It’s the perfect size for carry-on as well and is awesome for an overnight or week-long trip!

  • TRAVEL CUBES: If you haven’t packed with travel cubes, you are not living your best life! These things come in a set of different sizes that are great for keeping your underwear and socks separate from your swim gear and t-shirts. You don’t have to do that exactly but you catch my drift. They organize your stuff so that you can quickly grab something, keep your dirty things from the clean, and/or pack multiple people in the same suitcase.

  • MAKEUP CASE: I’ve had my Sly Cosmetics case for a while now and what really makes it amazing are its many compartments, and it also has a container for brushes which prevents them from getting damaged when packed away.

  • CLEAR POUCH: This is also from Sly cosmetics and is a perfect bag for toiletries - these I keep separate from my makeup.

  • POSE MINI MIRROR: I talk about this mirror all the time and it’s because it truly is one of my favorite things to travel with. It folds completely flat in my suitcase, has adjustable lighting which ensures that I have perfect lighting no matter where I’m staying and is a lifesaver when I’m rooming with a bunch of other women. Mirror space is valuable!

  • POWER STRIP: This may be my most genius packing hack - this power strip that has 3 USB ports and 3 plug outlets + it stays by my bedside when I’m not traveling. When I do travel I just unplug and pack it with all cords attached. Then when I get to my destination I just pull it out and plug it in - cords and all!

    • If you need a power strip that [lugs flush into the wall because your outlet is covered by the bed or a dresser this one HERE will save you every time!

  • 90˚ POWER CORDS: Once you get these cords, you’ll never go back to the regular ones for everything. These cords make so much more sense and make it so that your cords aren’t breaking where they’re plugged in because you’re constantly turning your phone.
