BRONZER VS CONTOUR

Bronzer vs Contour...it can be hard to keep it straight! Because in addition to application location, the undertones and purpose for each are what make them unique from one another.

While contour is playing with light and shadows, bronzer is all about mimicking that vacation glow we wish we had all year long! When you're contouring, you want to put a product two shades darker than your skin tone right on the underside of your cheekbone. Bronzer is used to warm up your face; it’s not used to define anything. Dust bronzer in a '3' shape so you hit your forehead, cheeks, and under your jaw.

For bronzer, reach for one with warm or burnt tones. If you’re pale or lighter-skinned, stay away from anything too orange-y. You want more brown in your bronzer. But if you’re olive-toned, for example, something with orange tones will look beautiful!

Contour products should be cool-toned because you want to create a shadow. So that underlying color should be more greyish than orange. Dusk this wherever you would normally have shadows - the whole idea is to create depth.
